If your vehicles registration number begins with a Q
If your vehicles registration number begins with a Q prefix you are not allowed to have private plates. The Q prefix signifies that the vehicle is of indeterminate age or origins, an example of which would be a kit car or an old car found in a barn. In the latter case if evidence does come to light ratifying the vehicles age then the DVLA could issue an age related number instead.
